BIRTHDAY + UPDATE ON THE LEGACY

SO I TURN 17 TODAY.
I FEEL OLD. I DON'T LIKE IT.
No, but i felt like making an update on the progress for the legacy today, since i haven't gotten the next chapter done yet.
I have the shots for the chapter, I just need to finish writing it and then it'll be up.
But, seeing how today's my birthday, it probably won't be today. :P
I'll probably have it up sometime this week.
But, all in all, i'm kind of disappointed by how it's been 6 months since i started the legacy, and I'm still at the beginning of generation 2. :(
I know there was a period where I couldn't use my laptop, but still :( I wanted to at least be on generation 4 by now :(
but, whatevs :P
I have the rest of the "Mulan" storyline planned out, now I just have to write. :P
This was a harder disney story to do as opposed to Cinderella, where it was easier to make a real-life parallel.
I ended up taking the original disney legacy rules and switching the stories around, and mixing them up to my liking :P
For instance, Generation 3 was supposed to be Toy Story, but i thought that was dumb so I didn't do it :P
Generation 8 was supposed to be The Nightmare Before Christmas, but I also didn't do that, I replaced it with Sleeping Beauty instead :P
Basically, I'm doing this legacy the way I want to do it.
Im just over Mulan now, and I wanna move on to Generation 3 now! :P
I still have like 5 more chapters to go though. :( but whatevs!
Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. Peace out, homeskillets.

2.3 - You Have My Trust

   *****AUTHOR'S NOTE******
OK, SO I'M FINALLY GETTING BACK IN THE SWING OF THINGS.
I'd like to apologize, I said it would be coming out in a couple days, but it ended up taking me over a week.
I had to go back in and retake the shots I had taken for the chapter before my laptop was stolen.
That, and this chapter took a reallyyyyyy long time to write.
Btw, I HATED writing this chapter. I don't know why, I just didn't like it.
It might take me a while to get the next one out, btw, because the play that I'm in is going to be performed next weekend, and I have all day practices this week, so the next chapter might not be out for another week or so.
IM SO SORRY. I'LL HAVE MORE TIME AFTER THE PLAY IS OVER.
For those of you who stuck around this long, I love you so much and I applaud you.
Happy reading!!

I replayed the night I talked to Autumn over and over in my head for the past three days. I didn't really plan talking to her about serious stuff like that, especially when I only knew her for about a day, but I kind of liked it. Over the next few days of working with her, I found out how funny and smart and nice she can be. I think I might have feelings for her. And, to be completely honest, I hated myself a little for it. I didn't want to get into anything serious right now, especially when I knew I wasn't going to be staying, and for how long. I guess I just have to try and not get into anything. I thought.
As I was getting dressed for work, I heard a knock at my door. I sighed and walked over to the door and opened it, hoping it wasn't Autumn.
I stared at my sister, wide-eyed. “Khloe?”

“What are you doing here?” I asked, still astounded.
She looked at me like I was crazy. “What do you mean? Why do you think I’m here? Mom’s worried sick!”

“So she told you to come bring me home?”
“Pretty much.” Khloe sighed, defeated. “Of course, I know I can’t force you to come home. But, I’d like to know why you came here.”
I didn’t respond. Khloe had no idea about who was really behind Katie’s death. Ryder and I were the only ones who knew before Dad was arrested, but we both knew that Khloe would be destroyed if she knew I was involved in killing her best friend. She would be even more destroyed if she knew I was the one who was meant to go to jail, not Dad.
Khloe sighed, putting her head in her hands. “What are you doing here, Vinny?”

I thought about it for a moment, and decided to come clean. “Look, Dad’s lawyer made a deal with me back home that if I do some service for the police, that he could at least reduce Dad’s sentence. So I came up to Bridgeport to do that.”
“How long are you staying?”
“I don’t know.”
Khloe closed her eyes. “Vinny, I hate seeing Dad in jail as much as you do, but Mom is an absolute mess right now. She doesn’t know what to do with herself, and she can’t handle losing her husband and her son in one week. She can’t handle being in that house alone.”
I stared at her. “Dad didn’t kill Katie.”
“I never said he did. I’m just thinking about Mom. Have you even called her since you got here?”
I avoided my eyes. I felt guilty that I hadn’t, but It was better that I didn’t answer her obvious plethora of questions. I preferred to get the job done and then go back home.

Khloe groaned. “Call her. Soon. Please?”
I shrugged. “So what now? Is that all you came for?”
Before Khloe could answer, I heard another knock on the door. I got up and walked over. Autumn stood in the doorway. “Hey” She smiled at me. She took a step inside and immediately halted when seeing Khloe.

“Oh. I’m sorry, I didn’t know you had a visitor.” Autumn said, genuinely sounding regretful.
Khloe’s eyes darted from me to Autumn. Her mouth curled in a mischievous smile after noticing my awkward expression. “Hi. I’m Khloe, I’m Gavin’s sister.”

I cringed a little. I hadn’t heard my real name in so long.
Autumn seemed a little taken aback by Khloe calling me ‘Gavin,’ but she took Khloe’s hand. “I’m Autumn. I work with…umm… ‘Gavin.’”
Khloe’s smile only got bigger. “Interesting.”

That’s the Khloe I knew. I decided to end this conversation as soon as possible. “What’s up?” I asked Autumn.
Autumn seemed dazed by my sister’s abrasive personality. “Um, I was gonna walk to the station, I was gonna see if you wanted to come with me, but…” Autumn trailed off, turning to Khloe. She knew I had to go to work, but she was trying to give me the courtesy.
“Yeah, let me just grab my stuff and we’ll go.”
As Khloe gave me a dirty look, Autumn started backing towards the door. “Ok, cool. I’ll wait for you downstairs.” She gave Khloe one last look, and left the apartment, closing the door behind her.
“Seriously? I just got here and you’re gonna leave?”
I shrugged. “I gotta go to work. I don’t wanna say you came at a bad time, but you came at a bad time.” I pushed past her and grabbed my bag.
“Vinny!” Khloe called after me.
“Look, just hang out today until I get back. I’ll leave the key on the counter. You’re in Bridgeport, go see the city! Just be careful.” Then I closed the door on my sister’s stunned expression.

I took the elevator to the lobby, trying to forget about the fact that my sister came all the way to the city to bring me back. I started thinking about Mom. She must feel so empty, having no one at the house with her. She never had that point in her life where she was alone, even after Dad left, because she had all of us. All of her kids. But, now, all of her kids are gone. She’s probably losing her mind. I made a mental note to myself to call her later.
When the elevator door opened, I almost didn’t step out. Autumn stood in the lobby talking to Benny.

My heart dropped in my gut as I slowly walked over to them. “Hey…guys.”
Autumn turned to look at me. “Hey, you ready to go?”
“Yeah, what’s Benny doing here?”
Benny looked like he was forcing a smile. “Your apartment is on the way from my house, so I thought I’d walk with you guys. You know, since we’re all going to be working together.”
I forced a chuckle. “Yeah.”
Autumn walked to the front door. “Ok, let’s go.”
Benny and I exchanged a look before Benny turned away to follow Autumn. I shook my head and closed the door behind me.

The walk to the station was almost completely silent. For the past few days, Autumn and I wouldn’t stop talking, even after we got to the station, but I didn’t want to say anything in front of Benny. Things between us were still pretty tense after the whole incident with Lucy Miles. Also, something didn’t sit right with me after he came to the complex to walk us to the station. I don’t know why, I just didn’t like it.
The walk took maybe fifteen minutes of complete silence. When we got there, Arnold and Walter were talking out front. Arnold came up to the three of us. “The chief wants to see the three of you.”

“You three are going to investigate the mugging of Lucy Miles further.” Wicker began. “We got a call from her mother Selena yesterday, who’s the secretary for the jailhouse in the city. She said she’s been getting strange phone calls for a few weeks now. I want you three to go to their residence and check out what’s been going on. We might be able to get to the bottom of all of this if we’re able to find the roots of all of this.”
“Yes, sir.” We all answered.
Wicker glanced at me. “Call me if you get any more leads.” With that, he motioned us to leave his office. The three of us walked out, and Autumn was the first to speak. “Do we have the address?”
Benny held up a small piece of paper. “Got it here.”
Autumn nodded. “Then lets go. I’ll go get the car ready.” I started to follow her to the door, but Benny stopped me. “Villiers, wait up a sec.”
I had to stop myself before I groaned. I turned around to face Benny, who had a different expression on than the one at the apartment. He actually looked sincerely apologetic.
“Listen, I wanted to apologize about my behavior towards you these past few days. I shouldn’t have been acting that way towards you and I apologize. I just hope we can work together as coworkers until you leave without us being at each other’s throats, you know?”

It actually seemed like he was sorry. But for some reason, I wasn’t buying it. Maybe it was because it seemed like he was changing his attitude a little too fast, or maybe its because he’s been a little protective over Autumn since I got here, but I didn’t like it. I put on the fakest smile I could. “No problem.”

The walk over there wasn’t as silent as the walk to the station. Benny walked further ahead of Autumn and I, giving us time to talk. “So, your sister came to town?”
I chuckled a little bit. “Yeah.”
Autumn forced a laugh. “Sorry, I guess you just haven’t talked about your sister all that much. I’ve heard you talk about your brother, just not really your sister.”

“My sister and I were never really that close. She was always the kid in the family that tried to take responsibility of everything everybody was doing. We were almost completely different.” I told her. “Ryder was just in the middle of all of it.”
“So was Khloe the favorite of the three of you?”
I laughed. “What?”
Autumn looked at me like I was crazy. “The favorite child. Even when they say they don’t have a favorite, they do. Do you think it was Khloe?”
“Well, if they had a favorite, it definitely wasn’t me. It was probably Ryder.”
“Really?” Autumn asked.
“Yeah. Everybody loved Ryder. He had the looks, the charm, the brain, the athletic build, and he could play guitar. What more could you want in a kid? Khloe was just the pretty-but-geeky girl when we were in high school, and now its like she turned into a completely different person. I had completely expected her to be the one to go to college out of the three of us, but she took up Alchemy instead. My parents weren’t too pleased about that, but they got over it.”
Autumn laughed. “So none of their three kids went to college? That must have been great for them.” She said sarcastically.
I chuckled. “Before all…this happened, I was actually going to go to college.” I began. “I was going to be the first and only one out of the three of us to go to college. I wanted to go into architecture, and live in this big house with all this money…” I trailed off for a second. “But, life throws us curveballs all the time, right?”

Autumn was silent for a little bit. “Can I ask you a question?”
“Yeah.”
“Why are you here? I mean, working for the cops, in Bridgeport?”
I sighed. I tried thinking about what to tell her. “I mean, all we were told was that we were getting a volunteer agent to help out with the crime problem, but we weren’t told why-“
Benny interrupted Autumn mid-sentence. “We’re here.”

The three of us stood in front of the door while Benny knocked. “Mrs. Miles? It’s the police.”
I immediately recognized the woman that answered the door. Her hair was almost completely grayed, but her eyes stayed blue as ever. Her eyes immediately found me and stayed on me for a good ten seconds. She recognized who I was.

“Mrs. Miles, I’m Detective Dill, this is Detective Wicker and Detective Villiers. We came to investigate the break-in you had recently?”
Her frail voice cut into my thoughts, catching me completely off-guard. “Oh, yes, please come in.”
The three of us stepped inside. The only thing that looked abnormal was the busted window in the dining room, but that was about it.
Autumn walked over to Selena. “Mrs. Miles, can you tell me what’s been going on?”
Selena hesitated for a second. “When I moved here with my daughter Lucy, I helped her pay for this apartment in the city so she could have her own place. Lucy found a job, but she had trouble making the payments. She got a loan from these people she met in the city so she could keep the apartment. Now, they’re asking for the money back, and she just doesn’t have it.” Selena’s eyes saddened. “They’ve been harassing Lucy for the past two months or so, trying to get money from her. They’ve been calling me too, at least once a day. One night, she called me and she said that one of them was following her. I told her to come stay with me a couple nights ago, and one of them broke into my house when she got here.”
“Did they take anything?” Autumn asked.
“I don’t think so. I walked downstairs and I found him walking through the dining room. I screamed and he jumped out of the window again.”
Selena finished her sentence, and a little girl's voice pierced the air. "Mommy!"
Selena turned around. “You can look around if you want, I have to go check on my daughter.” Selena began walking up the stairs. Autumn and Benny started looking around, but I just stood there, confused. Selena had another daughter?
I decided to follow her upstairs while the other two looked around downstairs. I followed the baby noises to a room at the end of the hall, where Selena stood holding her baby.
I smiled. "What's her name?"
Selena looked up, startled for a second, but she softened quickly. "Leah."
Leah looked at me with curiosity, but turned away from me, not saying a word.
Selena looked up at me. “You’re Grant’s kid, aren’t you? I remember you. You were the quiet one. You didn’t say a whole lot that night at the dinner.”
“Yeah, that whole situation was pretty awkward.”
Selena looked down at her daughter, and back up at me. “How are your parents doing? It’s been a while since I spoke to them.”
I had to stop myself from laughing. “They’ve been better. My dad’s in jail.”
Selena’s eyes widened. “What?”
I slowly nodded. “He was accused of a crime he didn’t commit. I know he didn’t commit it, so I worked something out with the police in Bridgeport, and this’ll reduce his sentence. So, I’m just trying to get him out, then I leave the city.”
Selena still looked like she was lost. “I don’t even know what to say. I’m so sorry.”
There was a period of awkward silence between the two of us, and I decided to continue the investigation. “So, do you have any idea who could have broken into your house?”

Selena shrugged. “They bolted before I could get a closer look.” She thought for a second. “Although, when he was trying to escape, this fell out of his pocket.” She walked over to the dresser and took out a slip of crumpled-up paper. She handed it to me, and I unfolded it and read it carefully.
My heart started to drop as I got further down the note. My breathing increased, and I thanked Selena after I finished it, and when Benny and Autumn were done, we left the house.

Benny and Autumn waited outside the interrogation room. I told them I would be able to get answers out of the person mentioned in the letter. A guard walked in the room with a rugged-looking man with hypnotizing light-blue eyes. Eli, my old friend from high school, sat in the chair across from me.

Eli pushed the rumpled hair out of his face to look at me. When he recognized me, he started to laugh. “No freaking way.”
I forced a weak smile. "How've you been, bud?"
He chuckled harshly. "Well, I'm in jail. What do you think?"
My head fell. I nodded. "Yeah."
Eli's gaze was fixed on me. "In all the years that I've known you, I never expected you to be on the other side of things."
I sighed. "People change, right?"
"Yeah, I guess so." Eli took a deep breath. "So, why'd you bring me here? What's the problem?"
"Well, three days ago, a woman named Selena Miles had her house broken into."
"Well, it obviously wasn't me. I've been sleeping like a baby in my nice, cozy jail cell."
"They didn't take anything, but they left behind a note written to them by whoever they're working for. Whoever wrote the note mentioned the address that Selena lived at, and his orders, which were to kidnap Selena's baby Leah Miles and bring her back to wherever the Headquarters are at. That's when they were going to decide to demand a ransom from her mother Selena, or to bring her back in exchange for breaking you out, considering Selena Miles works for the local prison."
Eli stared at the desk. "I don't know anything about that."
"Don't pull that shit with me, alright?" I turned around and looked at the wall before sitting down across from Eli. "Listen, we used to be really good friends, so I'm gonna be up front with you. My dad was taken in because they think he killed that girl Katie. I was wearing his jacket that night."
Eli's eyes darted up to me.
"The only reason I'm working for the police is because If I do this for them, my father's sentence will be reduced. The only reason he's there in the first place is because of me. If I don't do this, he'll die in that jail. I can't live with myself if that's how both of my parents are going to think of me. So I need your help in stopping this, because the sooner I get this done, the sooner I can go home."
Eli seemed to be conflicted. He kept opening his mouth like he was going to tell me something, but then just aborted what he was going to say. Eventually, however, I got him to talk.

I got back to the office after I was done questioning Eli, where Autumn was waiting with Benny. The two of them watched me walk in.
"Did you find anything?" Autumn asked.

I walked up to Benny and handed him a piece of paper. "Run a profile on this woman. Her name is Grizella Ghee. She was the one who wrote the letter, and she's supposedly the one calling the shots."
Benny's eyes lit up, like he was excited to make some progress on this. "I'll go give this to the chief right now." He turned around and back to face me. "Great job today, Villiers. You really pulled through."
I shrugged it off, but I had to fight myself not to smile. I finally felt like I was doing this job right, which gave me hope about Dad's sentence.
When Benny left, Autumn turned to me. "Glad we made some progress today. Or, I guess, glad YOU made progress today." She said with a smile. "You make a better detective than I thought you would." She said sarcastically.
"Oh, thanks." I said with a chuckle.

"Hey, so we don't have any more work to do today," she began, "And there's this really cool dance club around the outskirts of the city. Do you wanna come with?"

My heart rose. The fact that she was asking me to go to a dance club made my day that much better. "I'm only nineteen."
Autumn scoffed. "When you live in Bridgeport, you can start drinking when you're fifteen. No one checks IDs anymore."
I gave her a dry laugh. "That's kinda screwed up."
She gave me a look. "You're living in the capitol of corruption. This shouldn't surprise you."
"I guess not."
We took off our uniforms and left the compound. We hailed a cab and headed for the dance club.

When the two of us got out of the cab, I looked up at the club. It didn't look like much; a run down old building that could be anything from a warehouse to a hotel. The only thing that gave it away was the multi-colored lights flashing through the windows and the loud pop music. Autumn grabbed my hand and pulled me inside.

Crowds of people covered the dance floor. The loud music blared in my ears. The only place that wasn't as crowded was the bar. Autumn, still holding onto my hand, led me to the bar and ordered a couple drinks. She turned to me. "I don't think I've ever seen someone looking so lost."
"I've never been to a club before. Starlight Shores isn't as corrupted as Bridgeport, I guess."
Autumn took her drink. "I guess not."
"You seem right at home here, though."
Autumn put her drink down. "My dad worked. There were a lot of nights where I had to fend for myself for food. I got into the club scene when I was about fourteen."

I stared at her, wide-eyed. "Wow."
"Like I said: Kids who grew up in the city have been doing this for years."
I sipped on my martini. "How'd you find this place?"
"My best friend Daisy found it when we were sixteen. I've been coming here ever since."
"Where's Daisy tonight?"
Autumn looked me straight in the eye, expression unwavering. "She was murdered last June."
I froze, staring at Autumn. She just went back to her drink, like she hadn't said anything. "Some guy tried to grab her purse, she tried to run, he had a gun. This city isn't even close to sainthood." She turned back to me. "Listen, I know I said my dad wanted me to be a cop since I was in high school, but I fought with him. I never wanted to be a cop. I fought with him every day he brought it up. After Daisy was killed, I stopped fighting. I wanted to do something about the hell that people in this city live in every day of their lives. I wanted to stop whatever evil force was killing innocent people off." She took another sip. "I guess Daisy's death was just a wake-up call." She turned back to me. "What about you?"

I laughed dryly. "I got involved with the wrong kind of people in high school. I did some bad things, I wasn't very close with my family, and I was just an all-around jackass. Then...something really bad happened. That was the final straw for me. I didn't want to live that life anymore. I stopped talking to those people and I just tried to change my life the best I could. But, I guess these things don't matter anymore right? The past is the past."
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the door to the club open up on the other side. Benny walked in, and his eyes immediately found us.

I don't know what happened. I don't know what exactly I was feeling. Benny was following the two of us around all day today. I know he's working with us, but he didn't need to show up to the apartment this morning, and he didn't need to follow us to the club. I felt like he's trying to get closer to Autumn to stop me from getting closer to her. I know whatever I was feeling was a mixture of annoyance and jealousy. I know Benny was trying to make amends with me, but that didn't mean I liked the guy any more than I did when I met him.
I quickly stood up and faced Autumn, my back to Benny. "Hey, so I don't really know how to dance, but would you care for one?" I said, trying to keep myself from laughing.
Autumn didn't have the same concern. She hunched over the bar, amused at my pick-up line. She shook her head. "I'd love to."
I walked her over to an empty spot on the dance floor, and I just let instincts take over. Part of me wished I waited for a slow song to come on, but I had to act fast. I didn't want Benny following us to the dance floor too.
As much as Autumn was laughing at my dancing, she didn't seem bothered by it. She looked like she was having a good time, despite the deep conversation we had earlier. And, for some reason, her smile made me smile.

I occasionally looked over at Benny, and saw him watching the two of us from the bar. He didn't get up or walk over to us, he just kept glancing in our direction, his expression hard to read. I couldn't help but smirking.

It was about midnight when we finally left the bar. We caught a cab back to the apartment and split the fare. We walked over to the front of the building when Autumn grabbed my hand and stopped me. "I had a really good time tonight." She gave me a smile. "Thanks for coming with me."
I smiled back. "Of course. I had fun too. Sorry I had to torture you with my awful dancing; I never danced back home." I said jokingly.
Autumn shook her head. "Your dancing was adorable." She looked over to the building. "Hey...since Daisy died, I haven't really...hung out with a lot of other people, except for Benny, but that was only one time." She looked back at me with her deep, grey eyes. "It was nice being able to do that again."
I nodded, hardly able to contain my happiness. "Yeah. I mean, I've never been clubbing before, but...it was fun. If you want to do it again, all you have to do is knock on my door." I said.
Autumn laughed. "Definitely." She sighed. "Hey. About this whole thing with these loan sharks...Do you think this could be more serious than that?"
I shrugged. "Whoever broke into Miles's house did it by someone else's orders, which means whoever's behind all this has power."
Autumn crossed her arms. "The guy that broke into her house...he almost kidnapped that little girl..."
My gaze fell to the ground. "Yeah."
"It's scary to think how people like that live in this world."
I shrugged. "That's why we're here, right?" I smiled. "We're gonna find out who's doing this and stop them. We have to, right? This won't be a problem much longer."
Autumn nodded. "Yeah." She smiled at me."You're a good friend, Vinny. Thanks for helping out. I know you probably didn't have much choice, but...it's still nice."
I couldn't move my gaze away from her. In that moment, where the two of us just stared at each other, all I could think about was how beautiful she was, and how nice and kind she could be. I also felt a stab of pain for all of the things she went through. I never expected to, but I really did care about her. In that moment, I let instinct take over. I leaned over and kissed her.
Autumn froze, holding her hands up in defense, too shocked to know how to act. I slowly pulled away from her, keeping my face close to see her reaction.
She kept her arms in place, and her expression changed from surprised to...a smile. She moved her hands to grab mine, and she pulled my arms behind her so she could lean in for another kiss.
Autumn slowly pulled away, keeping our faces close.
She smiled at me, and I smiled at her. Nothing was said positively or negatively about the kiss, she just slowly pulled away and walked inside the apartment building. She stopped at the door, and when she saw I wasn't coming, she walked in. "See ya tomorrow, partner!" She yelled before the door closed.

I walked back into the apartment, unable to contain my smiles.
However, my smile quickly disappeared when I realized that Khloe was still here. "What took you so long? I've been waiting up for you. What happened?"

"You know I have stuff to do. I had work."
Khloe looked at me skeptically. "Work takes you until one in the morning?"
I gave her a look. "You don't have to stay here, you know. You could have went to a hotel or something."
"But that would require me paying money. And why would I pay when I could come stay with my little brother for free?" She laughed when she saw my annoyed expression. "How was work?"
"Weird. Do you remember Ryder's ex? Lucy Miles?"
Khloe froze. "Yeah. Don't tell me she's living here."
"Her and her mother. They're involved in the case I'm working in. Lucy's been borrowing money from loan sharks and it's just been going downhill from there. Someone broke into Selena's house the other day, so we went to go investigate that."
"Fun stuff." Khloe started flipping channels. "How'd that go?"
"This whole case is really screwed up. Someone tried to kidnap Selena's daughter."
Khloe turned off the TV and stood up, walking over to me. "Lucy?"
"Oh, yeah." I stumbled, realizing Khloe didn't know about Leah. "No, Selena has another little girl. She must have had her when they moved to Bridgeport. It caught me off guard a little, because she's Dad's age and she has a baby." I laughed. "It was hard to wrap my head around it."
Khloe, however, looked like she was about to throw up. "How old is she?"
I had to think about it. "I don't know. Four, I think?"

Khloe stared at me. "Four? Are you sure?"
"Like I said, I don't know."
Khloe slowly turned away from me and sat down at the kitchen table. "Oh, God."
I walked away from the kitchen and sat down across from her. "What's wrong? You okay?"
Khloe put her head in her hands. "Four years ago...Do you remember what was happening four years ago?"
I shrugged. "I don't know."
"Remember when that whole thing with Mom and Dad happened? And Dad moved out for a little while?"
"Yeah, but-" I froze as I realized what she was trying to get at. I stared at her.
"That was four years ago."
"Wait, but-" I stood up. "No. There's just no way. It could be anyone, we barely know this woman."
"Think about it, Gavin! Mom had just cheated on Dad, Dad and Selena were good friends, Selena was living in Starlight Shores around the time this was all going down-"
"Khloe, listen to me." I said, bringing my voice down. "Leah isn't his. Leah could be anyone's."
"Someone who lives in Starlight Shores?"
"I don't know. All I know is that she's not his."
Khloe stood up too. "What if she is?"
"Listen to me! Honestly, it doesn't matter whether she's Dad's, or not." I glared at her. "Bringing this up now is only going to cause more problems; problems that we don't need right now. Selena doesn't even live in Starlight Shores anymore. Right now, we both just need to forget about this and I need to focus on getting this job done so Dad can be released, so him and Mom can be together again. We shouldn't be worrying about this, and I need you to forget about all of your instincts that are telling you that Dad is the father. It's just going to cause more problems for them, and for us."
Khloe just glared at me, not saying a word. I pushed past her. "I'm going to get a shower. You can sleep on the couch, if you want."
I heard Khloe whispering to herself before I closed the bathroom door. "Please don't let her be his."

UPDATE ON WHAT HAPPENED

Ok so it's been a few months, i think? directly after I promised that I would be better with getting chapters up? xD
Let me start off by saying that I had planned to get chapters up regularly, until I got my laptop stolen -_-
I just got another one this week, and I definitely plan on protecting this one xD
I can only thank god that i was smart and kept copies of my save files on the Sims on my flashdrive, otherwise I wouldn't have the patience to remake the other sims and the houses and that would have been it for the legacy D: thank god that's not the case. I will be continuing the legacy, I just have to go back into my game and retake all of the shots I had already taken from the episode I was writing -_-
The next chapter should be out in a couple of days :)
